Joanna is a printed textile artist and designer, whose practice embraces contemporary one-off works on linen for exhibition, interiors and site-specific commissions. Responding to daily life within the domestic setting, she takes inspiration from small details of household objects through to larger architectural elements, exploring their interplay and juxtaposition. Dyeing, painting, and screen-printing, her multi-layered approach is logistically complex but intrinsic to the visual construct of her work, creating a resonating landscape that constantly shifts, whilst achieving depth and transparency to create space that is both architectural and ethereal. She works one-to-one facilitating artists’ projects and runs courses in her studio for all levels of experience. She is also available for talks to colleges, guilds and other organisations.
